We’re Hiring: Senior Software Engineer (Go + Cloud + Kafka)
Staffing Agency Client – Remote/Global

At Management en Red, we are partnering with a leading staffing agency to identify a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with strong expertise in Go, gRPC, Kafka, and cloud-native development. We support our clients in building exceptional engineering teams, and this role is key to strengthening their backend architecture and large-scale distributed systems.

About the Role

You’ll be responsible for designing and enhancing backend services that power high-throughput applications. While some familiarity with Node.js and React is valued, this position is primarily focused on Go microservices, Kafka pipelines, container orchestration, and multi-cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain data-intensive Go and Node gRPC APIs.

• Build, containerize, and deploy scalable Go microservices on Kubernetes (EKS/GKE).

• Modernize and refactor legacy Node.js services into idiomatic Go, boosting performance and reliability.

• Integrate and operate Kafka pipelines, including schemas, producers/consumers, and monitoring.

• Use cloud-native services across AWS and GCP to deliver resilient, cost-efficient solutions.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.

• Conduct code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and promote best practices in CI/CD, testing, and security.

• Participate in architectural design and planning, focusing on scalability and fault tolerance.

• Partner with cross-functional teams (Product, PM, QA) to ensure technical alignment.

• Provide accurate LOE estimates during PI planning.

• Prototype emerging technologies to increase engineering velocity and reduce operational overhead.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering.

• 3+ years building production-grade, highly scalable services in Go.

• Strong experience with gRPC and REST APIs, protobuf contracts, and client/server architecture.

• Hands-on experience building Kafka stream-processing applications (topics, ACLs, schemas, offsets).

• 3+ years with AWS (S3, CloudFront, EKS, etc.).

• 1+ year with GCP (Cloud Storage, GKE, Kafka, CDN).

• 2+ years designing and using MongoDB.

Nice to Have

• Experience building applications using Node + Mongo + Express + React.

• 3+ years with EKS/GKE, Helm, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Linux bash scripting for automation.

• Exposure to Redis, Docker, Git, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry.

• Experience with MongoDB schemas, indexing, and sharding strategies.

• Experience with ETL pipelines and CRUD operations.
